Managing Workspaces
A workspace is a self-contained environment with its own documentation, settings, GitHub connection, agents, and published site. Your account can belong to multiple workspaces — either as the owner or as an invited member. The Workspaces hub is where you view all your workspaces, open one, and create new ones.
The Workspaces Hub
The Workspaces hub is the central screen that lists every workspace your account has access to. It is available at the `/workspaces` route and opens automatically when you need to pick a workspace to enter.
Each workspace is shown as a card in a grid. The card displays:
The card for your currently active workspace is highlighted with an accent-colored border. Clicking any card opens that workspace and takes you to its admin dashboard.
Opening a Workspace
You can open any workspace from the Workspaces hub or from the workspace switcher inside the admin area.
Creating a New Workspace
A Create workspace card appears in the Workspaces hub grid when your account is eligible to create additional workspaces. Creating a workspace requires at least one of your existing workspaces to be on a paid plan. If no paid workspace exists, clicking Create workspace opens an upgrade prompt instead of the creation form.
To create a workspace:
The new workspace starts empty — it has its own docs, settings, and agents, completely separate from your other workspaces.
Plan Requirements for Additional Workspaces
The ability to create a second (or further) workspace is gated by whether at least one workspace in your account is on a paid plan. The Create workspace card is only shown when the server confirms your account is eligible. If you click Create workspace and none of your workspaces are on a paid plan, an upgrade prompt appears explaining what is needed.
Upgrading any one of your existing workspaces to a paid plan unlocks the ability to create additional workspaces for your account.
Workspace Ownership and Roles
Every workspace has exactly one owner — the account that created it. Owners are always Admins and are the only ones who can delete the workspace. Ownership cannot be transferred.
Teammates added via Settings → Access & Roles are invited members. Even an invited member given the Admin role cannot delete the workspace — only the original owner can.
On workspace cards for workspaces you were invited into (not owned), a role badge shows whether you are an Admin, Editor, or Viewer in that workspace. No role badge appears on workspaces you own.
Deleting a Workspace
Only the workspace owner can delete a workspace. Deleting a workspace is permanent — all content, settings, and data inside it are removed. Your other workspaces and your account are not affected.
To delete a workspace:
If you delete the workspace your session was currently in, Hyperdocs automatically switches you into one of your remaining workspaces.
