Plan estimate follows Answer Agent volume: Starter below 500 tickets, Growth at 500+, and Scale at 1,200+ per month. Actual AI credit use varies. Annual Starter is $39 per month, billed $468 yearly. This estimates ticket handling costs, not an automatic reduction in payroll. Savings depend on tickets fully resolved without human help and whether staffing or support spend can change. Extra credits and documentation upkeep are excluded.
How it works

From ticket volume to support cost.

Repeat questions take human support time. A searchable help center can resolve some tickets before they reach your team. Answer Agent can handle a share of what remains from your published documentation, for multiple customers at once without a queue for an available support rep.

01 / Human support today

Price each ticket.

Enter monthly tickets, the average minutes to resolve one, and your fully loaded hourly support cost. This gives you a baseline for handling every ticket by a person.

02 / With Hyperdocs

Estimate self-service.

Choose the share customers could resolve through help center search. Apply Answer Agent to the tickets still unanswered. The remaining tickets stay with your support team.

03 / Compare the costs

See the difference.

We compare the human support baseline with the cost of remaining human tickets plus the estimated plan price for the Answer Agent volume you entered.

What the number means

A cost comparison you can inspect.

This models a smaller human support workload. Your team still handles tickets that need judgment, account access, or a personal reply. If self-service takes on enough repeat tickets, you may need fewer support hours or may be able to delay hiring. A fixed salary bill will not fall automatically.

Help center search uses no AI credits. Answer Agent uses AI credits included with the estimated plan; extra usage, if needed, is not priced here. The calculator counts a ticket as resolved only when it needs no human reply. Compare plan pricing and credits.

Documentation still needs to be created and maintained. We leave that work out of this ticket cost estimate rather than claim it disappears. Start with realistic self-service percentages and adjust them to reflect your own docs and customer questions.

Beyond the estimate

Give customers a first place to ask.

Clear, current documentation gives both search and Answer Agent useful answers. Hyperdocs brings product docs, help center articles, API documentation, and a changelog together. Customers can search your help center for free, while Answer Agent can respond to several customers at once from your published content. Explore Hyperdocs features.

Your public docs can also be found outside the help center. Hyperdocs publishes a sitemap, llms.txt, llms-full.txt, and Markdown versions of documentation pages to give search engines and AI tools readable paths to content. See the SEO and AI discovery settings.

Search visibility, AI citations, and traffic are not part of this support cost calculation. They depend on factors beyond the ticket inputs above.

Questions

About the support cost estimate.

How do you calculate the cost of human support?

We multiply monthly tickets by the average minutes to resolve each one, divide by 60, then multiply by your hourly support cost. The default 12 minutes is an editable sample assumption, not a universal benchmark.

Does help center search use AI credits?

No. The search bar is free to use. Answer Agent uses AI credits when it generates answers from your documentation. See plan credits.

Why do you calculate Answer Agent after search?

One ticket can be resolved only once. We subtract tickets resolved through search, then apply your Answer Agent percentage to the tickets still unanswered.

How does the calculator choose a plan?

It uses the estimated monthly tickets resolved by Answer Agent alone: Starter below 500, Growth at 500–1,199, and Scale at 1,200 or more. The annual rates are $39, $99, and $169 per month respectively; monthly billing is $45, $114, and $195. This is a simple planning rule, not a guarantee that a ticket count matches actual AI credit usage. Check plan details.

Can this reduce the number of support people we need?

It can reduce tickets requiring a person if customers get complete answers through your docs and Answer Agent. Whether that changes staffing, hiring, or cash spend depends on your ticket mix, service targets, and how you staff support. Human support remains important for complex cases.

Do you include the cost of writing and updating docs?

No. Good documentation takes work to create and keep current. That work is separate from the cost of resolving support tickets, so we do not assume it disappears or add an unverified saving to this total.
